Update your Windows Phone to mango

The new version off Windows phone will be released in “fall” 2011 according to Microsoft. This version will include 1500 new API’s and many new futures. Microsoft released the beta version off mango a few weeks ago but hackers managed to get it on your phone without a dev unlock.  This method is very easy.

First you need to install the Windows Phone Support Tool(32/64 bit) This is a free tool provided by Microsoft. Then download this tool and run it,  be sure that you are using the latest version of Zune and be sure that it’s closed. The tool will make a backup and it will copy the file to C:\PreMangoState. The tool will start Zune after it finished. Your phone will be updates twice, it will take about 30 minutes so enjoy yourself with some coffee while updating. When the updates are finished you will see the improvements in Windows Phone Mango.

Restore to NoDo

You need to flash back to Nodo when Microsoft releases Mango this fall. You can use the restore tool provided in the package or you can copy your backup from C:\PreMangoState to %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Phone Update. You can come there by pressing the Windows button on your keyboard and type  %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Phone Update.
