Why Ronaldo Always Fails in El Clasico

Ronaldo after missing a clear goal scoring opportunity.

Last night Barcelona beat Real Madrid 3-1 in Santiago Bernabau. This defeat not only ended the 15 match winning run of Real Madrid but also strike a major blow in their La Liga title hopes.  Madrid came in this match as favorites and 3 points ahead of Barcelona with one game in hand. But when the final whistle blows the Bernabau faithful are disappointed as their team lost to their most fierce rivals after getting the lead in the first minute of the match. Now after this defeat Real are win less in four consecutive home league matches against Barca and Barcelona are the third team to remain unbeaten against Real Madrid in seven consecutive La Liga matches.

The result of the match will be completely different if Madrid number 7 Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t misses the opportunities to score the goals. In the first half  Ronaldo misses at least two great goal scoring chances and in the second half the story was same. The type of opportunities that Ronaldo get in last nights El Clasico,  normally  he score goals easily with these sort of chances.

Now when you look at Ronaldo’s record he only score ONE goal in El Clasico as the part of with Madrid. On the other hand his rival Messi scoring the Goals in El Clasico at will. Now what’s the problem with Ronaldo. People are saying the he can’t handle the pressure of El Clasico. But there is one thing for sure, if Barcelona wins this years LA Liga there is only one person Real Madrid can blame that is Ronaldo. Because if he scored from the chances he get the result of the match will be completely different, which means that Real Madrid are 6 points clear of Barcelona and with a game in hand. But now the La Liga race is opened again and it will definitely go to the while, just like last three seasons.

After the match Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas defended Ronaldo by saying the whole team is responsible for the loss.   He said that   “We all have to play at 120 per cent, not just Cristiano. We’re a team and criticism is directed to all of us.We were unlucky, but we shouldn’t use excuses. It was easier for them to play when they were leading 3-1, and it was consequently harder for us, with our lines separated and the match being so open.Barcelona’s second goal conditioned the match and it may have affected us somewhat. [But] there are many games left in the league and we cannot obsess about Barcelona.”
