Wigan beat Manchester United at their home ground by 1-0 and opens the Premier League title race again as well as their hopes of surviving in the Premier League. United are completely outplayed in the game and looked like a mediocre side, Wigan dominated the most of the game even their one goal was disallowed from a bad decision from the referee but they came out in the second half with same attacking instant and scored the first Goal of the match. This defeat ended the United’s 13 game unbeaten run in the League as well as Wigan’s losing run of 14 games.
From the start of the game Wigan are dominating the Premier League leaders and able to put the ball in the back of the net in 14th minute but that goal was disallowed. They didn’t stop there and kept attacking and defending well. At the end of the first half United didn’t even had a single shot on target.
Just after the start of the second half Wigan got the lead in the 50th minute of the match from a superb goal from S. Maloney. After that Alex Ferguson made changes and bring Nani and Welbeck in place of Rooney and Hernandez. After that United started to play more aggressively and attacked Wigan goal but some great defending and excellent goal keeping deny them the equalizer. The Game ended with the score of 1-0 and Wigan are now out of the relegation zone , United’s lead has been now cut to just 5 points with a game to play against Manchester City. So it looks like that there is some more drama to some in this Premier League season with just 5 games left.
