After the release of 3.1.2 iOS, Apple released 3.1.3 Version (7E18). This iOS is basically released for the updates of iPhone 3G and 3GS to 05.12.01. You can jailbreak and unlock your iPhone 2G if you update it to 3.1.3 firmware. If you have accidentally updated your iPhone 2G then there is no problem because the base band of iPhone 2G remains integral. So for Jail breaking and unlocking iPhone 2G redsn0w is used.

 

Jailbreak and Unlock iPhone 2G with Firmware 3.1.3 by using redsn0w

 

Below mentioned are the software’s which will be for jail breaking and unlocking iPhone 2G.

 

Step 1:

Create a new folder Pwnage in which you will copy these files.

 

• Redsn0w (Tool used for Jailbreak and unlock)
• BL 3.9
• BL 4.6
• 3.1.3 (iPhone 2G): iPhone1,1_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw 

 

Now after downloading and placing files in the Pwnage folder extract Redsn0w application.

 

 

Step 2:

Launch iTunes after connecting you iPhone to a computer.

 

Now just select your iPhone from the list of devices from the left sidebar. Here we will install the Custom Firmware for doing that hold down SHIFT key and click RESTORE Button.

 

Select firmware IPSW file from Pwnage folder. Click then OPEN Button to continue for restoring iPhone.

 

Step 3:

After restoration is completed to the desired firmware then now its time to launch redsn0.exe so that we will Jailbreak and unlock iPhone.

 

Step 4:

After Redsn0w opens now next step will is to click BROWSE button.

 

Step 5:

Select the firmware IPSW in Pwnage folder and click OPEN. Redsn0w will verify the IPSW firmware file.

 

Step 6:

After verification successful then click NEXT button for continuing process.

 

Step 7:

Now select the options as select in the picture. Now process of jailbreak will start.

 

Check Install Cydia and Unlock options.

 

Step 8:

Now select the bootloader files which we can browser from Pwnage folder. Select BL-39.bin and BL-46.bin respectively for both options.

Step 9:

 

Now click NEXT

 

Step 10:

Switch Off you iPhone before connecting it to computer because now we will enter into DFU mode.

 

Step 11:

Now you must enter into DFU mode and Redsn0w will guide to through.

 

Now hold HOME and POWER button at same time for 10 sec.

 

Now release POWER button but hold HOME button for 6 Sec.

 

Step 12:

Now iPhone will reboot so that new kernel and RAM disk will be uploaded.

 

Step 13:

New RAM disk and kernel will now uploaded, it may take couple of minutes.

 

Step 14:

Once RAM disk and kernel uploaded Redsn0w will be completed click FINISH button. Reboot iPhone may take 5 to 8 minutes after that it will run BootNeuter then be unlock and jailbreak with Cydia on SpringBoard.
