iPhone 5 will have a 19-pin charging port, previous versions have 30-pin port. The current 30 pin charging port has been found on Apple products since the third generation iPod was introduced in April 2003.
“Three independent manufacturers all agreed that the 19-pin dock port is in the works and many accessory manufacturers are facing an uneasy few months as they wait for official news of the standard to be announced,” John Biggs wrote in a blog post on TechCrunch.
